Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind provides rehabilitation programs for blind and visually impaired individuals ages infant through elderly and vocational training for the working age in Hillsborough and Polk Counties.
The agency provides a Low Vision Clinic using the skills of an optometrist who specializes in low vision to identify how to best use any remaining vision and may prescribe low vision aids, visual rehabilitation techniques, or specialized training.
A Magnifiers and More Store is located on-site and open to the public. Items available to purchase include magnifiers, adaptive kitchen and other household items, Braille and talking aids, and much more.
Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind's mission is to "maximize independence and provide employment opportunities for persons who are blind or visually imapaired."
