EBI was performing surveys in our area 22 September, 2016. They did not provide any form of notice that they would be surveying and digging a hole in our yard. After digging the hole, a very poor attempt to refill it was then performed. My wife was home so they did not knock on the door or make any attempt at notification. She asked me to come home at lunch to look at the hole and one of they employees just happen to be walking by. Kenneth was very pleasant and helpful and gave us the number of the owner Erik. I phoned him and spoke with him about the situation and explained that my two issues were: 1. no attempt at notification was made to us that someone would be on our property, and 2. they did not return the property back to original. Erik was very arrogant about the situation and told me that they were not required to make any attempt at notification and they have the right to go "wherever they want to survey". He also stated they were only required to return the yard back "as best they could". These two statements and his arrogant attitude are unacceptable for a company like this. The best response would have been to say they should make an attempt to contact but are not required to actually make contact if no one is available. As to the second, "as best they could" is not an answer at all if they are digging up our yard. It should be returned back to its previous state. That would entail taking the time and care to only dig up the sod first, then they can backfill the hole and replace the sod on top. This is done all the time with lawn and irrigation crews. Certainly not the type of owner or company that should be dealing with city contracts or large projects for surveying if that is the attitude they have to the average person and their home.
